Museum 9066
Project Background:
A museum located in Rohwer, Arkansas set to house historic and biographic accounts of life during the Japanese internment camps.
Design Intentions:
Visitors of this museum must experience the long, harsh journey that the Japanese-Americans endured. Therefore, the design of this museum is built to resemble qualities of that journey: being moved from California to Arkansas only to be stripped of all rights and dignity, then to suddenly be let free into a world that would never accept them for what they used to be. The museum's experiential journey showcases those feelings along the way.
